10 Most Beautiful Gardens of The World

1. The garden of Cosmic Speculation – Scotland

This garden is inspired by Science and Maths and is open to public only once a year! The garden was set up by Charles Jencks, together with his late wife Maggie Keswick , in 1989,and is located at Portrack House near Dumfries, in Scotland. As the name suggests, it is designed primarily to evoke scientific thoughts.

2. Keukenhof Gardens – The Netherlands

Keukenhof Garden is one of the most popular destination in Netherlands. It is full of breathtaking flowers arranged in numerous patterns. It has around 7 million Tulips, including special hybrids developed for the garden.

3. Suan Nong Nooch – Thailand

This garden is situated in Pattaya, Thailand and is famous for its stunningly beautiful landscapes. It covers around 600 acres of land and has Thai style villas, houses, banquet halls, restaurants and swimming pools. It was opened to the public in 1980.

4. Versailles – France

One of the world’s most famous gardens, it was built for Louis XIV and was designed by Andre Le Notre. Huge amount of earth had to be shifted to lay out the garden. Trees for this garden were conveyed from all the provinces of France.

5. Botanical Garden of Kuritiba – Brazil

This garden, situated in the biggest city of Brazil, opened in 1991 and is created in the style of French gardens. The garden occupies 2,40,000 sq meters in area and houses trees amidst fountains, waterfalls and lakes. There is also a greenhouse of 458 sq meters in the garden.

6. Butchart Gardens – Canada

Located in British Columbia, this garden is world famous for its breathtaking landscaping and colourful trees and is spread over 50 acres.

7. Yuyuan garden – China

This garden was built during the reign of the Mind Dynasty, more than 400 hundred years ago in Shanghai. After the fall of the monarchy the garden was neglected, but in 1956, it was take over by the city administration and restored to its former glory. It was opened to the public in 1961.

8. Shalimar Garden – Pakistan

This garden was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in Lahore, which is now in Pakistan. Shah Jahan is famous for his contribution to architecture and this garden is one of his legacies. Shalimar garden is included by USESCo as a world Heritage Site.

9. Minneapolis Sculpture Garden – US

This Garden situated in Minnesota, US is famous for its sculptures of small objects in oversized forms, like its famous spoon and red cherry sculpture.

10. Ryoan-ji – Japan

The Ryoan-ji Temple in Kyoto Japan is famous for its Zen garden. It is built in “dry Landscape” style and represents Japanese culture and art. The origin of the garden or it’s creator are not known.
