Ecological or Organic Gardens are a thing of the present as well as a trend of the future. The past 5 years that has gone by has seen so many developments in this sector that it has become a must thing to explore. The entire concept of growing your own food is so beautiful and useful that every garden should take a step towards it. Deciding to have an organic garden at your home is one of the best possible decisions you would make towards your health. In the current environment that we live in, we eat chemicals and we breathe pollutants. Organic gardening is a blessing in disguise where with a little of extra effort, we can grow our own chemical free veggies. Planting and maintaining an organic garden is a gratifying experience. While the basics of starting an organic garden is similar to what we do for starting any other garden, there are some apparent differences. There is a lot of front work involved before you actually start setting up your garden in order to have a clear idea of where you are going to do, how you are going to do it as well as how are you going to maintain a healthy environment and a disease and pest free setup.

The first thing that you need to do is start with the planning to choose the best possible site for your organic garden. It could be your balcony or your roof top or the backyard space getting wasted.  After getting your mind made up on the location of your garden, start creating the bed for the plants to live in. It’s the time to start digging and clear the complete area for your plants to start a new life. Once the bedding is created, it’s time to amend the soil. Create a nutritious soil with much compost and spread it all over the bed to cover the entire area. When all the setup is done, it is now the time to select the plants which you want to grow. The most fun part of the entire process is to sit down and think about all the things you want to eat plucking from your garden. You can grow a variety of veggies ranging from tomatoes to cabbage to fruits like lemon and berries and what not! Think of it and you can grow anything you want to. But, if you are a beginner, it may sound great to you to plant every edible plant possible but it is always a good idea to start with a small manageable garden in the beginning. Try experimenting with plants and find what grows best in your garden. Always tend to choose plant that grows well in your climate and geography.

Organic Gardening decreases the amount of pesticide in your food drastically i.e. takes you to the path of healthy eating and healthy living. Numerous benefits for planting an organic garden include getting you the freshest fruits, herbs and vegetables. Take care of your plants properly and you will get the best of results. In this age of pollution, the breath of fresh air is going to be your organic garden in your backyard.
